![]() PROJECTS Solo Project | Showtunes CD | A Cappella | |
The Album | The Evolution This isn't really a solo project. It felt like it started out that way, writing my own songs with a passion and inspiration I had not felt when writing before. But it quickly became a project shared: inspired by, and hopefully inspiring in turn, friends and colleagues, music lovers and other musicians. It is one thing to write a song, to sing it to myself and decide that I like it. It is quite another to share it with others. And so the journey began: performing in the living room for a friend; then at coffee house open mic nights... later back at the coffee houses for entire sets, with some friends joining me during the set. One highlight took place at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano (between L.A. and San Diego), a hall that seats up to 480 people. We were opening up for Sophie B. Hawkins, an exciting experience in and of itself. I had my new band, named "Plug-and-Play" by one of its members only that evening (since there was going to be no time for a sound-check). With two percussionists, two backup vocalists, and another guitar player, I took the stage in front of hundreds and we filled the room with our energy and music. I hope you enjoy what you see and hear here. My original song "From Within" is available for download, two videos from the Coach House show are posted on my Video page. And of course, my new Album, "The State I Get In", is now available. Check it out! --dina Special thanks to the members of my band, Plug-and-Play: Marni Vath, Angela Levack, Dana Twedell, Russell Ali, Ismael Pineda, and PJ Labinski And to my friends who have performed with me in the past: Leonardo Ruiz and members of the Deadly Sins. |
